Our Programs integrate Conceptual Presentations with Simulation Practices and Team Reflection.
Training supported by Simulations
Our Programs integrate Conceptual Presentations with Simulation Practices and Team Reflection. In the process, Theory and Simulation are linked to the reality of the Participant’s Business. According to the needs, our programs combine:
• On-site learning
• Team work and reflection
• Tools to apply on the business in order to reinforce on the job learning and on the job improvement and results
Duration: Programs may approach one special topic and have a short duration (for instance, 1 to 3 days) or they may integrate various contents and simulations in one program with a larger scope (regular meetings throughout several months).
Course delivery modalities: Programs may be designed to be given on-site, virtual or “Blend”. The simulation has a special place, both in on-site and in blend modalities, but in the virtual alternative it has a particular importance, given the need to generate attractive and strong dynamics in order to keep the attention of the participant.
On-site learning: Our Classroom activities – known in the market for the use of simulations – combine various methodologies and tools that generate a level of commitment, reflection and learning very difficult to match. Although the simulation always has an outstanding level, interaction between the participants and the simulation screen represents 50% of the total timeframe. Business Skills has developed a specific and higly effective “know-how” to generate reflection and learning in the remaining 50% of the time, integrating what the simulation triggers with conceptual presentations, group reflections, other experiential games and how to link to the day to day Business reality and to the participant’s role reality.
e-Learning (virtual): The theoretical materials, as well as the exercises and the simulation are adapted to be used through e-learning. They may be installed in already existing platforms, or, if convenient, the e-learning platform offered by Business Skills may be used.
Blend Learning: Business Skills offers the possibility to combine on-site activities with virtual support. Blend learning enables the combination of the strength of personal encounters with the continuity and cost and time savings that distance activities provide, integrating in these programs state of art techniques, among which are the Business simulations.
Business Skills has developed a follow-up methodology and application tools that facilitate and leverage the application of what has been learned during the Course, to the participant’s day to day reality. The use of these tools could start in the training activities, allowing participants to apply what they have learned to real cases and situations of their own day-to-day business, and/or they become available for participants to be used after the Courses, when they return to their jobs.
Assessment supported by Simulation
The business simulation itself has become a powerful tool to assess the individual and/or group capabilities and competences of the members of an organization. Given the dynamics generated by the simulation, the participants are challenged to respond before quasi-real business situations, in the same way they would respond in similar real situations. In this environment, the observation of the behaviors, decisions and interactions generates a unique opportunity to know and evaluate the participants in their present and future competences and capabilities. The activities with simulation may be designed only for evaluation purposes, or for training and evaluation purposes. If used only for evaluation, the design will imply, among other things, having the presence of specialized Observers (internal or external), defining evaluation criteria, etc. This use of the simulation may be complemented with other assessment tools such as interviews, tests, exercises or experiential games, etc.
Consultancy supported by Simulations
Consultancy supported by Simulation facilitates strategic planning processes, scenario analysis and building of balanced scorecards.
It all starts with the application of System Dynamics theory to the development of customized Simulation models that reflect the essential dynamics owned by each industry.
Once the models are ready, workshops are scheduled, aimed at directors and managers, to test strategies, evaluate alternatives, anticipate results and evaluate the impact of strategies on different future possible scenarios.
Simulators may be used for the development of recreational and competitive activities, without a formal learning framework, with the purpose of challenging participants of an organization with a business game that involve them in a “gymnastic” of thinking and deciding around Business issues, in highly engaging, playful and competitive environments (but simulated, i.e., “risk free”). This “gym” develops and reinforces the participants’ following skills: planning, strategic thinking, change management, decision making, global and long term vision, and results’ improvement. This type of Solution fits very well for Companies are looking to organizing Tournaments and Games to make their people interact and integrate through in a playful and amusing manner. Could be setup as Virtual Tournaments that will not imply high budget or time costs. As well fits extraordinary well in Sales Force Conventions or any other type of Business Meeting where the company would like to add a moment of an engaging and business oriented Game.
